North Wales Cross Country @ Bangor - better late than never.

Anyone who has regularly run the cross country will know that the weather is always cold, wet and windy and the course is knee-deep mud and it is nearly dark by the time the last runner is finished. Wrong!!!

In 2011 thanks to a change in the programme and unseasonably warm weather in October it was hot and dry, perhaps not ideal for running but it made for an excellent occasion. Family and friends turn up in abundance to support and we sat outside in the sunshine consuming tea and cakes afterwards.

And it was a good day for the club too. a good turn-out by both men and ladies and some excellent performances led by Matt 2nd overall and Erika 3rd lady just seconds behind Marilyn. The all-round good performances means much better team results. The men were a very respectable 4th in Div 2 with the male vets 5th overall. The Ladies were 2nd in Div 2 but were only a single point behind first place.

A superb start to the season. It puts us in a fine position to improve on at the next race at St David’s College Llandudno (LL30 1RD) on Oct 22nd.

It is now confirmed that the North Wales Cross Country Championships will be at Rhug Farm, Corwen on 28th January 2012.
