December bits!!! from Rob

It was really great to see so many of you at the Running Hare on Tuesday. I noticed that we were almost the last leave. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope you all did too. Perhaps we ought to do it more often. It is easy to organise. Please let me know what you think.

We had a really good turn-out at the Border League on Sunday. It was a very disappointing outcome following an extraordinary set of weather conditions. You can't legislate or plan for everything! At 11.30 there was an alternative, cancel it. That would have been even worse. I have had mixed feedback since the race; not surprisingly there has been some critisism but mainly people have been very supportive. Thank you all for the support. It was a difficult call.

We are going to try and organise a "run in the hills" over the Christmas break. It might even be a "run in the snow in the hills". Please let me know if you are interested.

Have a very Happy Christmas.

Wrexham XC

Despite the cold weather there was an excellent turn out for what is effectively our home race.

Ladies ran first - Erika came 3rd, Dawn 21st, Margaret 56th, Sue 67th & Ann 86th, with the team coming 7th.

The men followed dutifully behind - Matt came 2nd (a mere 3 seconds behind the winner - I'm sure Les will be working on your finishing kick !! ), Eric 19th on his first XC appearance for Buckley, Simon 24th, Dave 65th, Huge Lewis 67th, Jeff 76th, also on a first outing, Mike 101st, Pete 107th, Paul D 115th, 'the Goat' 129th, and the team were 2nd !!!!!! in their division. If only we'd done that in the other races .......

The next race is Telford's at Lilleshall on January 22nd
